I studied at Lancaster University 1994-97, and gained M.Phil in Fine Art: Practice and Theory in 2004. I have taught in both Further and Higher Education, currently teaching Fine Art Studio Practice at the Lancaster Institute for Contemporary Arts, Lancaster University.

Current practice is focused around the experience of Arctic environments. An Arts Council England funded trip to Greenland in 2006 provoked a series of paintings, drawings and mixed media work that responded to this wild and remote landscape, in the context of an awareness of the current concerns with climate change.

February 2009 will see me back in the Arctic, on Spitzbergen in the Svalbard Archipelago, again funded by ACE, accompanying a small team of atmospheric research scientists from Lancaster University. I am interested in exploring the relationships between artistic and scientific processes of data collection and interpretation in this mutually significant environment.
